We are working with a leading manufacturing business who are focused on sustainability while continuing to deliver a high-quality product and service to their global clients.

The role is a Production Supervisor to manage the shift and all direct staff. This will be to ensure the smooth running of the production process and ensure that all products are produced to the specified standards. This person will take responsibility for targets and deadlines being met to achieve the orders and that all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.

This position will report to the Production Manager and oversee circa 20 staff across Maintenance Technicians, Inspectors, Goods in/Fork Lift Drivers and Machine Operators.

To be successful in this role it is essential that you are hands-on and can lead by example in all areas of the factory.

Key responsibilities
*Take responsibility of the shift; management of staff, production and quality targets to ensure the smooth running of the production processes
*Take full responsibility of the quality and product that is produced within the shift in line with the company’s quality systems, processes and procedures
*Manage, develop and motivate direct reporting staff
*Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance
*Ensure good communication is given either verbally or written
*Ensure H&S rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift
*Problem solving and troubling shooting skills to identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand
*Work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure handovers are effective
*Ensure training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift
*Have an active role in the company’s continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth
*Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace
*All employees are responsible for ensuring company resources are used in an effective manner to ensure best operating costs

Mechanical Design Engineer – Manufacturing

We are currently working with a leading manufacturer of bespoke products.

Due to ongoing growth, they are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established team.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be tasked with assisting with project management for new products from concept designs through to finished product. This will include being responsible for detailing manufacturing and assembly procedures taking into account lean manufacturing and continuous improvement systems and techniques.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing end to end projects
Designing 3D models of bespoke products for global customers
Liaising with both the sales team and customers to identify design requirements
Producing detailed engineering/manufacturing drawings
Producing standard operating procedures to detail manufacturing and assembly methods
Producing technical documents, reports and presentations for internal and external use

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

A relevant engineering degree in the field of Mechanical/Design Engineering
Strong experience using 3D CAD software (ideally Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks)
Full lifecycle design experience – concept design, 2D/3D modelling, engineering drawings and designing for manufacture as well as maintenance and design improvement considerations
Experience of tolerance analysis including manufactured parts and assembly tolerance stack up
Lean manufacturing experience i.e. 5S or Six Sigma
Experience with use of ERP and/or MRP systems i.e. SAGE, Oracle, Progress Plus
Proven project management skills
Experience with continuous improvement systems and techniques
Project management qualifications i.e. Prince 2 / PMP
Experience of working in an ISO9001 accredited Engineering company would be advantageous

We are currently working with a leading specialist manufacturer looking for a Shift Supervisor, in the outskirts of Maidstone. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business with an ever-growing international customer base.

About the role:

*The successful candidate will be responsible for their own team, liaising with the Production Manager to assist in managing the order capacity, ensuring customer orders are produced to deadlines, whilst maintaining our high standards and quick turnaround of orders
*You will also be involved hands-on working on manufactured products
*Occasionally, you may also be involved in spot welding in the creation of bespoke metal products, use of power guillotines and other power-assisted manufacturing equipment
*Your duties will include ensuring the parts you and the team are producing reflect the order and are created to a high standard. You must be proficient in working on engineering drawings
*You may also be required to carry out training of team members and new starters, ensuring Health & Safety regulations and procedures are followed
*The successful candidate must have a good understanding of pattern development and should be capable of hand finishing to a high standard
*Forming, bending and rolling in various gauges ranging from 0.35mm to 5mm.
*First Aid, Fire Warden and keyholder responsibilities

Desirable Skills:

*Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory role
*Experience in Sheet Metal manufacturing including deburring, drilling, and spot welding with the capability of reading and working to engineering drawings
*Experience in working with ISO9001 quality system
*Experience of working with Lean/6 Sigma working practices
*TIG welding experience would be beneficial but is not essential

We are working with a leading engineering business in Dartford with over 100-year history. Due to increased demand, they are seeking a Production Operative to join their established team. This will initially be in a 6-month fixed term contract, which could potentially be extended or moved into a permanent opportunity.

The purpose of this role is to work as part of a production cell team to manufacture the parts and the final assembly of high-quality products. This requires an attention to detail and the ability to follow work instructions. The person will be contributing to achieving the production cell’s targets, ensuring the products achieve the quality standards, are delivered on time, and built within the required time requirements.

Duties include
*Responsible for the assembly of products by multi-skilling across five process points within the production function.

Requirements
*A mechanical, electronics/electrical, production or manufacturing engineering background is highly desirable
*Proven experience of working in a fast-paced environment on a production line or within a production cell or similar
*Has the ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions
*Good written and verbal communication skills
*Excellent attention to detail whilst maintaining a consistent level of pace (in accordance with production targets)
*Thrives under pressure
*An electro-mechanical based qualification is desirable, but not essential
