Exciting opportunity for a Residential Property Legal Secretary to join a Top Tier Law firm recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers UK.

If you have experience working in a busy practice within their property or conveyancing team then this could be the perfect role for you.

With an office based in Sevenoaks the office is accessible to those who drive or use public transport.

The Role

– Provide support to the senior team
– General administration; prepare documentation and correspondence
– Accurately copy type and audio type through digital dictation
– Effectively use LawSoft
– Deal with clients both face to face, via the phone and on email
– Monitor and maintain lawyers diaries and calendars
– Arrange appointments

The Candidate

– ILEX or equivalent
– Audio typing speed of 55wmp – preferred
– Previous secretarial experience
– Professional telephone manner
– Previous experience working on a property/ conveyancing team

Working Hours

The role is working Monday to Friday 9am – 5.15pm

In Return

– Basic salary – £20,000 – £25,000pa

Legal Secretary

Do you have excellent typing skills? Do you have a minimum of 3 years recent experience as a legal secretary?
We are recruiting for an organised and dedicated Legal Secretary to work within a busy conveyancing team for a law firm based in Gravesend.

Duties of the role include:
-Providing full secretarial support
-Diary management
-Meeting and greeting client
-Audio transcription
-Submitting searches and handling telephone queries from clients and/or third parties
-General typing/correspondence and document work
-Preparing legal forms where required.

Successful applicants will have solid conveyancing experience within a legal environment and be able to use initiative. This is a busy role therefore individuals must be able to work proactively, coupled with a good client manner and technical competence.

Knowledge of Land Registry Portal, BigHand, Oyez Forms, Searchflow and/or Partner 4 Windows would be advantageous.

We are looking for individuals with exemplary organisational skills, top admin skills and the ability to spot human error and correct mistakes.

The role – which is Tunbridge Wells based – will involve providing secretarial assistance to fee earners within the department. The job holder will have legal secretary experience ideally within residential conveyance.

– Main function of job to provide secretarial services to fee earners within the team.

Duties include:
– To ensure the smooth flow of documents and correspondence in and out of the Department.
– To word process all necessary documents from hand-written notes or by transcribing recorded dictation.
– Scan, email and fax correspondence and documents as required Undertake file management including opening and closing files, photocopying and filing all relevant documents. –
– Maintain stationary and other supplies and provide refreshments
– Answer the telephone, handling calls and if necessary routing calls and taking messages. Managing Fee Earners diaries, organising internal and external meetings.
– Support other members of the team in the performance of their duties It is expected that, in accordance with business needs, you will provide support to other secretaries in the department or across the firm by picking up work or covering at times when your work load is light or if one of your usual fee earners is away from the office for whatever reason or at times of urgent business need.
– Any other reasonable duties assigned from time to time.

Specialist Skills Required:
– Excellent IT skills in particular Word. Excel would also be useful, as would experience in working with a Practice Management System.
– Strong telephone skills

Personal Skills:
– Interest in legal matters and understanding of the need for confidentiality.
– A well-organised, careful, conscientious approach. Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
