Legal Secretary – Residential Conveyancing

We are recruiting for a legal secretary to work within a busy residential conveyancing team for a legal firm based in Maidstone.

Duties of the role include:
Providing full secretarial support
Diary management
Meeting and greeting client
Audio transcription
Submitting searches and handling telephone queries from clients and/or third parties
General typing/correspondence and document work
Preparing legal forms where required.

Successful applicants will have solid residential conveyancing experience within a legal environment and be able to use initiative. This is a busy role therefore individuals must be able to work proactively, coupled with a good client manner and technical competence. Knowledge of Land Registry Portal, BigHand, Oyez Forms, Searchflow and/or Partner 4 Windows would be advantageous.

We are looking for individuals with exemplary organisational skills, top admin skills and the ability to spot human error and correct mistakes.

We are working with a reputable Solicitors based in the Medway area who pride themselves on high quality service, tailoring each service they offer to their client’s needs.

They are looking for a Legal Cashier with Legal Aid experience to join them on a temporary, on-going basis. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and very well organised, conducting themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Your key responsibilities will be:
*VAT administration and returns
*Process bank transfers
*Processing automatic and manual payment runs
*Assist in month end procedures
*Bank reconciliations
*To ensure all accounts are up to date
*Update accounts and ensure all clients are compliant
*Dealing with enquiries and payments from clients
*Processing of travel and other expenses
*Petty cash

A prestigious company based in Kent is looking for a Legal Secretary with experience in property disputes, contentious probate & trust, commercial disputes, international disputes, construction and professional negligence.
The role will involve providing secretarial assistance to fee earners within the department.

What are they looking for:

A candidate who is able to ensure the smooth flow of documents and correspondence in and out of the Department
Maintain stationary and other supplies and provide refreshments. Managing Fee Earners diaries, organising internal and external meetings.
Answer the telephone, handling calls and if necessary routing calls
To word process all necessary documents from hand-written notes or by transcribing recorded dictation.
Support other members of the team in the performance of their duties
Scan, email and fax correspondence and documents as required Undertake file management including opening and closing files, photocopying and filing all relevant documents.

The ideal candidate:

Excellent IT skills in particular Word.
Excel would also be useful, as would experience in working with a Practice Management System.
Good grasp of the English language – spelling, punctuation and sentence construction.
Enjoy contact with others, good social skills including tact, patience, understanding and persuasiveness.
Smart appearance.
Interest in legal matters and understanding of the need for confidentiality
Clear speaking and writing.

Qualification required:

Good standard of general education and experience as a legal secretary.
