Specialist manufacturing business near Marden, Kent are actively looking to recruit a Quality Technician to join their Quality function.

My client is a bespoke designer and manufacturer of specialist metal-based products. The Quality Technician will work closely with the Quality team, reviewing quality processes and implementing improvements where required.

Role & Responsibilities of the Quality Technician

– Work closely with Engineers to ensure products are inspected before the deadline
– In-process inspection of parts and components
– Maintain all quality records
– Calibration of measuring equipment
– Assisting with ISO9001 management system duties
– Assist the quality team to ensure suppliers and other third parties meet quality specifications

Candidate Profile

– Experience using measuring equipment
– Manufacturing/ production/ engineering sector exposure
– Sheet metal inspection – preferred
– Experience and understanding of ISO 9001
– Knowledge of engineering/ technical drawings

On Offer

£22,000 – £28,000pa

Benefits include: 20 days holiday pa increasing by 1 day pa up to a maximum of 25 days after 5 year’s service. Enrolment into the Company bonus scheme after 3 months service (paid out quarterly). Enrolment into Company pension scheme.

Full-time, permanent.

– Work closely with Technician to ensure products are inspected before the deadline
– Plan and carry out regular internal audits
– Creation of key dimensional reports and FAI reports
– Finding discrepancies and implementing corrective actions
– Assisting with ISO9001 management system duties
– Ensuring suppliers and other third parties meet quality specifications

Candidate Profile

– Quality Management experience
– Manufacturing/ production/ engineering sector exposure
– Sheet metal inspection – preferred
– Experience using FMEA, 8D, AQAP processes
– Experience of PPAP process – Advantageous
– Solid knowledge of engineering drawings

£30,000 – £36,000pa

Quality Controller – Fresh Produce

We are currently working with a leading FMCG distributer, based in Sittingbourne.

Due to ongoing growth, they are currently seeking an experienced Quality Controller to ensure all produce dispatched meets all customer requirements of safety, quality, and legality.

The Quality Controller will be responsible for:

Ensuring all product packaging and detail meets or exceeds the customer’s legal standards
Maintain an understanding of each customers labelling and packaging specifications
Continually monitor labelling and packaging standards of the packed product
Ensure accuracy of date coding, barcoding, and all other pack and outer case labels information is correct
Ensure all associated promotional detail, ribbon and any other form of additional pack information is correct
Ensure that the correct packaging is being used as per customer requirements
Responsible for raw material checks
Responsible for collecting shelf life samples
Set up quality standards on the line before production starts
To work safely and report any hazards or near misses to the Line Leader or Shift Production Manager
To maintain high levels of health, safety, hygiene and housekeeping to BRC and HACCP Food Standards at all times

The Quality Controller will be able to demonstrate:

Experience working in a temperature-controlled environment
Experience working in a packhouse/production environment
Knowledge of fresh produce standards
Excellent written and spoken English
Ability to work as a team and do repetitive work
Ability to work under pressure, to strict deadlines

Graduate Physicist

We are currently working with a leading manufacturer of bespoke products.

Due to ongoing growth, they are currently seeking a Graduate Physicist to join their technical department and be responsible for quality control and writing technical documents.

The Physicist role will involve design, simulation and testing of specialist products. The Physicist will also be involved in testing for quality control and writing technical documents for customers. The role will include carrying out test setups, operations and calibration independently, whilst documenting procedures and results. The role will require communication with customers to provide technical support, which can additionally involve site visits and will call for flexibility.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Minimum 2:1 Bachelor’s degree in Physics or a related field
Experience in laboratory work and processing experimental data
Technical documentation skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills
