Management Accountant / Finance Manager

Our client is an engineering business who are currently going through a period of modernisation. They are seeking an experienced Management Accountant/Finance Manager to join them on a full-time basis.

This position needs someone from an SME who can lead the accounts function. This is a busy accounts environment and the individual must be used to getting hands-on to get things done.

*Oversee all accounts functions and supervise junior staff in their duties
*Prepare and submit all returns to HMRC as required (VAT, CIS, EPS)
*Oversee client onboarding, including review of credit history and setting of appropriate limits
*Credit control including meeting monthly cash collection targets
*Manage weekly cashflow and report to directors
*Make payments to suppliers
*Review weekly wages
*Process monthly wages
*Monthly reconciliation of invoice discounting facility and management of drawdowns to meet cash requirements
*Reporting commitments to the directors, analysing performance on a weekly basis and monthly preparation of management accounts.
*Calculate and reconcile charges between the different departments of the business and raise invoices for cross charges where appropriate.
*Develop relationships with key financial stakeholders such as the external accountants and consultants, bank and insurance brokers to provide information requested by them as necessary.
*Manage some HR functions, such as take on of new employees, ensuring contracts are issued, company handbook is maintained and dealing with the company benefit schemes.

Key skills
*This role would suit MAAT, or ACCA / CIMA part or newly qualified.
*Experience with Excel essential.
*Experience of OCR software, Xero and CRM software would be of benefit, but training can also be provided.
*Experience in construction or manufacturing / engineering sectors would be desirable, but not essential.
*Knowledge of CIS essential
*Prior experience of managing a junior would be beneficial
*Be a team-player with a flexible attitude and willingness to learn.
*You will be confident with IT, and happy to pitch in when required to assist project managers with software queries or technical assistance.

Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm (could be flexibility of start and finish times but will be 40 hours per week)

Drivers would be preferred due to location
