Purchasing Planner

Purchasing Planner to currently required to join a growing business in Sittingbourne.

Reporting into the Purchasing Manager the Purchasing Planner will be responsible for assisting with the purchasing of ambient and non-food goods for the business, maintaining stock control and maximising service levels and availability.

Other responsibilities will include:

– Maintaining supplier Terms & Conditions and ensuring all suppliers adhere to terms in regards to delivery, service & condition of goods
– Ensuring minimum/maximum stock levels
– Updating in-house stock software with product specifications
– Actioning any promotional activity to maximise business opportunities
– Delivering stock build promotions
– Outlining accurate supplier contract details
– Responding to buyer group requests
– Reviewing and updating reports related to product range
– Removing slow or damaged product lines

This role will suit someone with previous Purchasing experience, specifically from an FMCG or ambient food background.

You will be joining a close-knit, successful team and will have the chance to work alongside the Warehouse, Transport & Sales teams.

This is offering a competitive salary of up to £23,000 + benefits.

Engineering Design Manager

We are currently working with an international manufacturing business with clients based in the UK, US, Europe, The Middle East, Africa, and the Far East.

Due to ongoing growth, they are currently seeking an Engineering Design Manager who will be responsible for the day to day management, operation, and development of the technical office. This role requires a proven mechanical/production engineer with the leadership skills, motivation, drive and experience to lead a team in the design, development, and reconfiguration of a range of bespoke and standard products.

Responsibilities of the Engineering Design Manager will include:

Provide technical/engineering support and advice to the production and sales departments and to other companies in the group where appropriate.
Design, develop and manage production processes.
Maximise profitability by delivering cost reduction and greater efficiency.
Providing product design and development resources to support local and group strategy including the realisation of new products.
Lead the technical design team, scheduling work and resources.
Design, reconfigure, draw and develop specialist products.
Ensure that H&S is met.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

HNC, degree or equivalent in engineering.
Experience using 3D CAD preferably AutoDesk Inventor.
Knowledge of the H&S requirements of the Machinery Directive (CE marking).
Knowledge of ISO9001.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Best practice knowledge of Engineering Project Management and Quality Systems.
Mechanical engineering design experience.
A good knowledge of manufacturing, sheet metal, and fabrication techniques.
Very strong technical and execution capabilities with the ability to solve technical problems.

Maintenance Support Technician (Nights)

We are currently working with a leading FMCG distributor, based in Sittingbourne.

Due to ongoing growth, they are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Support Technician to work night shifts.

Working as part of the Engineering team, the Maintenance Support Technician will support the Shift Maintenance Engineer with preventative maintenance. This will involve deep cleaning of production machinery by removing guards and barriers under the supervision of the Shift Engineer.

Responsibilities will include:

Ensuring that the cleaning schedule is adhered to
Carrying out preventative maintenance
Carrying out tasks with regard to the cleaning specification and all legislation including Health & Safety and Personal Hygiene
Ensuring correct materials, equipment and methods are always used and equipment is kept clean and in good working order
Report faulty machinery/equipment immediately
Report all accidents and dangerous occurrences and complete all necessary documentation
Work efficiently and effectively ensuring that you contribute to the daily KPI’s of the department
Maintain high levels of health, safety, hygiene and housekeeping to BRC, HACCP and PIU at all times through the clean as you go policy

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous experience in a Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Support role. You will have good written and spoken English along with good dexterity and the ability to use basic hand tools. You will be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised. Knowledge of COSHH is advantageous.

The Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for driving excellence in Health & Safety, ensuring all relevant standards are met and audited and the business remains compliant.

Responsibilities will include:

Health & Safety compliance across the site, being responsible for the development, maintenance, implementation, review and reporting of the Safety Management System.

Spend time engaging with teams across the business, especially in operational areas and work with them to improve the awareness of Health & Safety.

Support the design and delivery of a comprehensive program of safety training.

Provide specialist safety advice to management.

Contribute to the development of Health & Safety strategy, risk plans and the delivery of policies and practices to support them.

Coach Managers on incident reporting.

Develop and carry out regular site safety audits and work with external auditors.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

NEBOSH qualified
Experience of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment is preferred

Responsibilities of the Line Leader will include:

Machine operation and team coordination
Ensuring the line runs effectively and efficiently
Ensure machines are kept in good working order
Ensure quality service levels are maintained
Maintain a good working relationship with quality control personnel
Minimise and accurately record packaging waste
Ensure production plan is adhered to
Ensure works orders are completed 100% accurately
Ensure any additional costing information is recorded
Maintain CAYG (clean as you go) standards are adhered to
Ensure correct PPE is being worn by all employees on the line
Ensure Health & Safety standards are adhered to
