Assistant Management Accountant

Leading FMCG business seeking an Assistant Management Accountant near Maidstone.

Monday to Friday – 9am to 5:30pm Full time, Permanent

Responsibilities of the Assistant Management Accountant:

– Assist in the production of accurate Monthly Management Accounts for Senior Management
within published timescales
– Provide Financial Reporting to senior managers as required
– Provide assistance to the Management Accountants and Finance Director
– Preparation of monthly Trading Account and Variance Analysis
– Review and closing of purchase orders, including follow-up of any discrepancies
– Assisting with the preparation of monthly Management Accounts
– Preparation and review of the monthly KPI reports
– Preparation and analysis of monthly Department Overhead variance reports
– Weekly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
– Provide assistance to other managers throughout the business on their financial reporting
requirements
– Assisting with the preparation of the annual Budget
– Tax Year-End assistance including P11D preparation

The ideal candidate will have well developed personal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of staff. Our client is looking for someone who has at least one years’ experience working in a comparable role and is part qualified in accounting.

The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
* Plan and supervise the preparation of all personal returns together with managing all aspects of personal tax compliance for a portfolio of clients
* Manage client portfolio to ensure quality service is given to clients
* To research detailed technical matters and report
* Manage, motivate and supervise support staff
* Handle client billing arrangements and meeting targets
* Liaise with professional bodies
* Ad hoc non-compliance work
* Maintain time records and monitor performance against budget and proposed fees
* Prepare and conduct presentations/proposals and advice letters to clients
* Be instrumental in driving the business forward and assist the Director with strategy
* Assist the Director as the second in command with all business matters in the longer term

Financial Controller – (Part Time – FMCG)

Are you a qualified Financial Controller? Have you worked within the FMCG sector previously?

A unique FMCG business based in Paddock Wood require a Part-Time Financial Controller to join them on a permanent basis.

The core responsibility will be to lead the financial control, governance, reporting and financial accounting for the Company. More than a traditional controller, the role is also key in driving performance management and strategic growth.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

– Lead the Financial accounting, reporting, and analysis
– Drive improvements in cash management, reporting, analysis, governance, and control
– Business partner within the management team, challenging, collaborating and finding ways to drive the business forward to be the best it can be
– Develop innovative processes to support financial governance and control, with diligence and measure
– Deliver critical tasks to deadlines, including monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting

Candidate Profile

– A professional accounting qualification with post qualification experience commensurate to the role
– Experience in manufacturing and/or FMCG is preferred, but not essential
– A high level of technical accounting competence is desirable, an audit background may be beneficial but not essential
– Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate financial issues and solutions to non-financial colleagues
– Analytical and diligent in approach, with an attention to detail
-Strong systems skills and excel wizardry, with the ability to digest complexity and find innovative solutions

Hours of work are flexible, either 3 long days or 5 shorter days (25 – 30 hours)

£21,875 – £37,499pa (£35k – £50k FTE)
