The role
We are looking for an experienced Auditor, or someone who has considerable experience in Accounting and Audit, who is looking to take their career in a different direction.
This is the perfect role for someone looking to move from practice into industry, and be a very influential part of a globally respected financial technology group. You will have a passion for software and a strong understanding of the audit software.

The product suite, and their clients, are beginning the transition from a desktop platform to a cloud based audit system. The Product Manager will therefore play a key role in helping the business and its clients make the change as smoothly as possible, and defining the future of audit technology in the UK.

We are not looking for technical experts, there will be no programming or coding knowledge needed, but you will be hands on with research, keep up to date with statutory regulations, been an expert in the use of these systems, and offer advice and guidance on the future of audit software.

Responsibilities
*Provide clear direction for the development of the products
*Liaise with the Product Owner to ensure work is correctly scheduled and planned
*Maintain your knowledge of audit regulations and the audit market to the extent required to make commercial decisions on the future of the product range and be able to identify future statutory requirements that may affect the product portfolio
*Produce scope and specification documents to support your plans and ideas for the product suite
*Help build ‘proof of concept’ models where necessary from a user’s point of view
*To be the primary contact for, and liaise with development and product management teams on Audit System
*Liaise with QA team regarding testing requirements and product deadlines
*Responsible for managing update releases and arranging accompanying documentation
*Provide information to clients in the form of regular web bulletins
*Assist the sales team with regards to taking your products to market
*Identification and management of potential beta sites, to assist as product focus groups and testers
*To research the products of competitors and report on any significant changes and trends in the audit technology market

Competencies
*Likely to have a degree level of education
*Sound audit experience, at audit senior level or higher
*Experience of using automated systems within an accounting practice, such as paperless audit systems and financial reporting
*An understanding of the significance of IT systems within a practice environment
*Understanding the future of cloud applications and the benefits to business
*A passion for the world of technology, and for maximising the efficiency and quality of software applications
*Highly competent in the use of standard office IT systems
*Experience of collaborative software tools such as Google Docs, Office 365 etc.

The role
The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
*The Tax Manager will plan and supervise the preparation of all personal returns together with managing all aspects of personal tax compliance for a portfolio of clients
*Manage client portfolio to ensure quality service is given to clients
*Manage, motivate and supervise support staff
*Where appropriate review work prepared by other team members
*To research detailed technical matters and report thereon
*Liaise with professional bodies and suppliers
*Ad hoc non-compliance work as required
*Maintain time records and monitor performance against budget and proposed fees
*Prepare and conduct presentations/proposals and advice letters to clients, potential clients and staff
*Internal training of team members
*To contribute to the firm’s practice development
*Handling client billing arrangements and meeting productivity / efficiency targets

The candidate
The ideal candidate will be:

Finance Manager

Finance Manager
Salary depending on experience
West Kent

We are working with a bespoke company based in the West Kent area who pride themselves on supplying high quality, unique products to consumers.

They are rapidly expanding and are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join them on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be from a commercial finance background and will be AAT qualified at a minimum.

Your key responsibilities will be:
– Responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of all transactions, including posting nominal ledger journals on Solar
– Daily/weekly/monthly reconciliation of bank and other control accounts
– Weekly reviews of the nominal ledger to check for unusual or mis-posted entries
– Monitor bank accounts and manage direct debit and standing order information
– Issuing volume invoices in a timely manner
– Actively reducing debtor days (through operation of good credit control in line with the credit control process)
– Accurately maintaining the purchase ledger and organising payment runs for authorisation.
– Processing payroll, employee’s expenses, credit card expenses
– Managing the company’s pension scheme under guidance from the pension advisors
– Dealing with HMRC on PAYE and VAT matters
– Prepare VAT and other statutory returns including non-financial returns as required, ensuring that no commercial data is disclosed
– Liaise with the company’s bank, accountants and other external entities as required

Wider Management Responsibilities:
– Take the lead in improving and maintaining the budget setting process across the business with input from others, create the financial and non-financial budgets for the business
– Work with the senior team on tendering, and contract improvements as well as contributing to the thinking on new commercial opportunities
– Contribute to the growth of the business including; working with the senior team to develop short and longer term goals, resource planning, use of technology, marketing and actively recommending ways in which the business may be improved

Experience:
(Relevant experience required, degree of authority held in posts to date)
– At least three year’s experience in a similar role within a similar sized operation
– Experience of supervising other accounts staff
– Experience of working as part of a senior team
– Experience of working to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality

Qualifications:
– Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA
– Degree or equivalent (not essential)
– AAT (minimum essential qualification)
