Remote & Office Based (South Kent)
Full Time, Monday-Friday
We are working with a leading and growing business on the South Kent Coast that is going through an interesting period of change and development in the world of eCommerce.
This role is playing a leading role in the development of the product offering, supplier relationships and increasing the sales and profitability of the business. A key part of the role will be to network and build strong relationships both internally and externally.
Working closely with the commercial and purchasing teams you will be embracing digital tools and new ways of working to increase efficiency within the consumer purchase decision-making process and ultimately generate sustainable and profitable growth.
*Responsible for category ranging, pricing and promotions across the channels
*Developing strong working relationships with external suppliers, key vendors and internal marketing teams to improve pricing and quality of services
*Negotiating with suppliers to improve trading terms, and secure central income and merchandising support
*Seek out new product opportunities with existing and new suppliers
*Responsibility for the integrity of the product catalogue, new line process and sign offs
*Responsibility for product lifecycle management
*Developing an exit strategy for unsuccessful products
*Work with commercial, finance and operations teams to ensure a common category message and strategy is understood and implemented
*Reviewing and supporting industry and consumer category insights produced by the purchasing team to develop strategy
*Include what motivates the shopper, what trends there are in the category, what competitors are up to, what strategies are the retailers implementing etc.
*Ensure we have the right products in the right place with the right space’
*Creating and developing a strategic long-term plan for the development of the category
*Work with the purchasing team on demand management and seasonality
*Supporting purchasing team with demand planning to ensure the sustainability of inventory
*Managing budget development and revenue for the category
