Membership Sales and Marketing Manager
To manage the membership programme with the aim of significantly increasing the number of members and income for the events and leisure venue.
*To develop and implement a long-term strategic growth plan which drives sales and renewals whilst increasing membership numbers and income.
*Develop a benefits package which offers value for money for members whilst also maximising income
*generation through ticketed events and promotions.
*Identify a programme of events and activities for members, including events, marketing and communications.
*Agree key performance indicators relating to sales and renewals and provide regular progress reports. Set out and implement a plan to achieve and maintain agreed annual targets.
*Develop and implement promotions and other activities to incentivise renewals.
*Develop and implement strategies for front of house, online and other sales opportunities.
*Assist with training opportunities for admissions staff to ensure they understand the benefits of membership and can provide accurate membership sales information during their contact with visitors.
*Identify new opportunities for third party promotions and corporate membership schemes to further drive sales.
*Develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy for membership, including regular membership magazine, marketing materials and communications.
*Ensure members are kept up to date with events and news through regular print and e-newsletters.
*Be the public face of membership at events
*Manage the membership team in ensuring objectives are aligned with the growth of the membership programme and delivery of outstanding customer service.
*Manage the budget for the membership programme.
*Manage performance standards for processing memberships and resolution of enquiries.
*Ensure that the membership processes and record keeping are compliant with Data Protection Act, PCI regulations and other relevant legal and policy frameworks
*Ensure all membership activities, such as events and marketing promotions, are undertaken to the highest standards of quality expected.
*Degree or equivalent experience
*Experience of working in leisure industry would be preferable but not essential
*Significant membership experience.
*Experience in achieving challenging targets in sales and renewals.
*Demonstrable experience in maintaining high standards of customer service, professional standards and delivery within a membership programme
*Membership database experience.
*Demonstrable experience of using financial and membership data to produce accurate forecasts and to inform strategies
*High standards of personal organisation and effectiveness with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Confident, personable and creative personality with ambition to grow a membership programme
*Line management experience
*Excellent communication and presentation skills
