Office Junior

We are working with an established construction company in West Kent. They have been established for nearly 30 years and due to increasing work they need an Office Assistant to come on board and assist the Office and Accounts Manager, MD and QS. This would be an ideal role for a school/college leaver looking for their first steps in to office based work.

The company are in a time of expansion and it is a very exciting time to be joining them. They have many new projects coming in to the business and they need someone who is looking to have a long term career with the company and add support through this growth period.

They are a friendly team and have a positive, upbeat, happy culture. They ensure they give them a good work life balance, but in return want commitment and passion. They are in a lovely rural setting with beautiful views, and even have an office dog.

Main Duties
*Reception duties – Answering the phones, taking messages, transferring calls and dealing with any general queries
*Office assistance
oMaking tea throughout the day
oGoing out for office supplies during the day (tea, milk etc)
oMaking sure all items are in the dishwasher and turned on every night and emptied every morning
*Typing up wages and filing
*Sending general emails
*Collating paperwork and project documents
*Welcoming people to office
*Opening post and distributing
*Ordering stationery and collecting when necessary
*Scanning and photocopying
*Occasionally tidying cupboards
*Any other ad hoc office based roles as and when they arise

The person
*You must hold a full licence and have your own car
*Driven, enthusiastic
*Confident answering the phone and being point of contact on reception
*Good at prioritising
*Good work ethic
*Can work in a pressurised environment
*Calm and collected
*Highly organised
*Can take instructions clearly and act accordingly
*High level of IT literacy
*Ability to multi-task
*Can work autonomously when given a task to complete.
*Key eye for detail
*Good spelling, grammar and numeracy (GCSE B or higher in Maths and English would be preferred)
*Quick to pick up new tasks, duties and processes

We are looking for someone who will take this role and make it their own. While there are a number of duties listed they are in a period of growth and as you develop in to the position you will be given more responsibility and duties.

This company have a small office team, so while there is not the structure career ladder growth big corporate offer, you will become an integral part of the team, develop and grow a wealth of skills and experience, and have a real significant impact on the business.
