Paralegal (3 month contract)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Law Graduate to develop their legal career in a top 100 construction company that focus on community development and regeneration.

The successful candidate will be working with the Group Legal Counsel and the Legal Department in providing legal advice on a broad spectrum of work including but not limited to construction, property, data protection, corporate and dispute matters.

The successful candidate is likely to be involved in a number of areas including contractual matters, research projects and the drafting of materials, human resources, finance as well as other business issues with legal implications.

This varied role will cover contract and tort, consumer law, data protection, employment law, finance, litigation, commercial law and the law relating to landlord and tenant.

You will need to be able to work in a fast paced environment, prioritise well and have
excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Specific Duties

Assisting members of the Legal Department with various matters including:
*Document production, amending, tracking and producing agreements
*Printing and binding final documents
*Legal research
*Preparation for the implementation of the legislative regulations
*Ad hoc and administrative duties

Personal Specification

*Law degree with minimum of 2:1
*Minimum 6 months experience working as a Paralegal within construction or similar sector
*Excellent client care skills
*Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with people.
*Good working knowledge of various applications – Word, Excel, Outlook
*Demonstrable organisation and time management skills
*Ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise a busy and changing workload
*Ability to work on a number of different projects and matters simultaneously managing competing demands with tact and diplomacy
*Ability to take the initiative and be pro-active in addressing issues or challenges
*Commercial attitude, flexibility and adaptability

*LPC/ Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice or equivalents
*Working in-house
*Experience in other areas such as property, corporate or data protection

This will initially be a 3-month contract with a potential on-going extention.
