PR Account Director
This specialist PR and strategic communications B2B agency are now looking for an Account Manager to join their close knit team. They’re currently in a period of expansion as a result of some recent big client wins and now is a fantastic time to join.
As an Account Director you are ultimately responsible for overseeing your designated client accounts, as well as advising on other client accounts where required, with minimal involvement from the Associate Director or Managing Director.
Client, new business strategy, and delivery
*Operate as a senior member of the team, requiring minimal involvement from more senior team members
*Run an account smoothly with no issues, foreseeing and addressing potential problems, plan, deliver and execute to manage expectations on all sides
*Continuously scrutinise account management standards
*Make strategic decisions and provide expert counsel – both to the client and team – based on your own expertise and understanding of client needs
*Oversee the writing of all day-to-day material for clients including press releases, features, statements, Q&As, presentations etc.
*Have final say on the amendment and quality of content – press releases, bylines etc., produced by junior members of the team
*Provide a senior and qualified presence at meetings, leading these at the appropriate client level
*Take the lead role in important presentations to existing clients and at new business pitches where required
*Demonstrate a full understanding of all budgeting procedures while overseeing invoicing for client activities
*Use relevant business contacts to provide ‘added value’ to client programmes
Media and event strategy, and delivery
*Add value to the media strategy process in both the new business/strategic planning stages and the on-going execution of media campaigns
*Develop and maintain relationships with key journalists and mentor junior team members on building relationships with relevant journalists
*Oversee the management and organisation of events where required
*Alert clients to risky PR situations and provide high-level advice on strategic issues and media handling issues, including crisis management
*Assess the team on the results they achieve
*Make recommendations to the Associate Director, Senior Account Director and Managing Director on career progression and training
*Help to recruit top talent, ensuring an effective and organised on-boarding process
*Provide coaching to support any training gaps within the team
*Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the team by setting the context, defining accountabilities, and delegating tasks and assignments
*Establish and maintain effective managerial practices to build an engaged and high-performance team
