Procurement / Purchasing Assistant

A well established and growing international manufacturing company offering a niche product range is seeking a skilled and committed Sourcing/Procurement Assistant to support the Purchasing team in a wide variety of activities.

Duties
*Assist the team in the audit of documentation and contract terms required for trade transactions.
*Assist in building relationships with organisational network and external vendors for procurement.
*Assist in the ongoing review records and information to determine if work processes and procedures are effective.
*Assist in contractor selections by gathering procurement specifications and tender bids received from suppliers.
*Take responsibility for assisting in the raising of purchase orders and maintaining procurement records.
*Draft proposal requirements or procurement details to potential sellers.
*Gather lists of sellers in line with selection processes.
*Provide receipt of products based on procurement requirements and quality assurance processes.
*Support data collection on potential sellers that fulfil requirements.
*Support procurement activities based on product specifications and customer needs.
*Support the wider team as required, specifically sales and finance departments to process payment to sellers.
*Support work improvement activities and performance improvement strategies.
*Track statuses of purchase orders based on organisational procedures.
*Use the latest technology to improve operations.

Requirements
*Previous experience within a similar role – supply chain, purchasing, procurement.
*Have an understanding of logistics / import / export.
*A second language would be ideal but not essential.
*Ability multi-task, effectively manage time and able to prioritise urgent and important work over non urgent or important tasks.
*Ability to work to and meet tight deadlines.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Willing to cover for other team members when on leave or to relieve excessive workloads.

This is a full-time role on site near West Malling. 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
Salary is dependent on experience
