Senior Technical Consultant
Full time or Part Time (3-5 full days)
Salary is dependent on experience
Our client is an established consultancy company working in the education finance sector now in their 9th year of trading.

This role will be based at your home address and could potentially include some travel to clients’ premises. Mileage will be reimbursed to you at the HMRC rate.
You will gain fantastic insight and experience in the education finance sector. The breadth of the support we offer our clients gives great exposure and ensures that there is never a dull day!
The technical consultant role is a vast one and can include;
*training client staff on the relevant finance software we use,
*for a minimum of 3 days per week, provide cover for our Helpdesk and Hosting clients answering queries on a wide range of technical accounting and system administration topics
*Addition of new locations to PS Financials software
*Providing a budget holder roll-out service
*Setting up new users and clients on the hosting service
*Providing support to the Network Manager for the service
The majority of your working day will be remote, answering a wide range of questions that are sent in by clients who use our Helpdesk and hosting service;
*When booked to cover the Helpdesk service;
oAnswering all Helpdesk emails which are received in line with our service level agreement.
oBeing the first line responder for any queries which come in from staff who will be on site
oRemotely accessing client machines to run through processes that are not able to be answered by email message
oDeciding when to call clients when an email does not seem to be doing justice to a query
*Booking in time to add new locations and managing the transfer of required data from the client and advising the best approach to adding the new location and respective users
*Creating and keeping up to date a database of queries and responses to regularly asked queries so that these can be used for future training
*Setting up new clients on the hosting service
*Setting up and maintaining new users on the hosting service
*Working with the Network Manager to ensure the security of the hosting service is without compromise
*Working with the team to ensure that any performance issues with the network are quickly identified and resolved.
*Taking responsibility for the level of work delivered at all times
*Looking for opportunities to promote our services such as Helpdesk / Connect / Software / Consultancy
*Having a presence on LinkedIn on behalf of the company
*Keeping on top of sector changes to provide the best service possible to clients
*Keeping up an adequate level of CPD; sourcing your own training opportunities in the areas required to improve your service to clients (funding requests to line manager)
*Being responsible for the training and development of junior members of the team as required
*Ensuring you are always delivering added value to clients, both on-site and via helpdesk/email communication
*Having input and focus on marketing needs of the company
Although an Accountancy qualification and/or relevant school or charity experience is desirable, they are not essential.
The majority of the clients use PS Financials software. Extensive experience of this package including the ability to amend reports and run SQL code to investigate issues is essential.
An understanding of Microsoft Azure, group policy, SQL, installation of PS Financials, IIS and Reporting Services are required for this role. Although some training can be provided, the successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running.

As this role will be predominantly home working, a high level of self-motivation is required.
You will need a clean driving licence and access to a vehicle. You will also need a clean enhanced DBS check which will be initiated by the client.
