Role: Water and Effluent Process Technologist
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £33,586.39 per annum + Weekly Bonus’
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:30

My client, an international leading manufacturing company based in Birmingham is currently recruiting for an experienced Water and Effluent Process Technologist to join their rapidly expanding company.

Your role will include becoming the site specialist for all activities related to water and effluent whilst also keeping the site at the forefront of related technologies. You will also be accountable for Safety and Environmental performance of the water and effluent systems. You will also oversee the day to day activities relating to the incoming water and effluent treatment, ordering any appropriate chemicals and providing general maintenance where necessary.

The Role:
– Ensure incoming water and effluent treatment plant operates effectively and safely in
support of mill operations
– Carry out monitoring and control of all aspects of incoming water and effluent treatment,
ensuring mill operates at optimal cost whilst remaining within statutory compliance
– Plan, organise and conduct trials to improve operation
– Make recommendations to improve site operation, safety and efficiency
– When requested, to be available for meetings/projects/working away from the site, for
short periods of time, which may include overnight trips
– To carry out additional education and training as a result of new equipment and changes in technology
– Provide on call assistance on a rota basis

Ideal Candidate:
– Can perform test suite for WTP assessment
– Can communicate efficiently with various teams
– Supervisor experience
– Will be happy to take on additional responsibilities where necessary
– Commitment to Continued Professional Development at all times

Experience and Qualifications:
– Previous experience within a similar role is advantageous
– Understands the process of water treatment
– Understand Gas and Fluid systems
– Previous biogas handling and treatment experience
– DSEAR trained
– MCERTS qualified
