The role of the Trainee Sales Executive is to work alongside the sales team, supporting them and identifying routes to market by way of our services, machinery, resources, or capability. The job entails opening up new avenues of enquiry that can be pursued towards a possible sale by way of introduction and the building of relationships. The Trainee Sales Executive should be objective, open to new ideas of others and develop new ideas of their own.
Duties & Responsibilities:
*Make, receive & manage sales related calls/emails. Problem solve and fact find to find an angle in which we can help the potential or existing customer.
*Prepare written quotations as agreed and issue within a short time frame
*Chase responses to quotations
*Research market place for potential new business, by industry, by company and by service
*Contact potential customers getting contact details & ascertaining potential requirements
*Prepare summary of enquiries/quotes/orders/invoicing (Pipeline) when required to discuss with management
*Assist others in the progression of customer orders if required
*Support business with attendance at trade fairs as both a visitor and exhibitor (occasional overnight stay may be required)
*Document & maintain customer profiles detailing contacts, works undertaken, spend, areas for growth etc
*Monitor job budget vs actual costs to ensure optimisation of profitability
*Attend periodic sales meetings with key personnel to discuss enquiry levels, leads, completed projects and work in progress (WIP), and how we best focus our sales strategy
*Support sales team in all aspects of their work
*Demonstrate a ‘Can Do’ attitude, be team spirited and eager to succeed.
*Articulate, with excellent customer service and telephone skills – using a personable demeanour and can liaise with customers using a consultative approach.
*Excellent written communication skills, particularly for a sales audience, showing a keen eye for detail. This includes faultless spelling and grammar.
*High level of computer proficiency & working knowledge of MS-Office, Word and Excel.
*Creative, innovative & willing to contribute ideas and a professional opinion
*Be a team player but have the initiative to work using own initiative if required.
*Be organised, showing the ability to fact find and record meaningful and necessary information
