If you don't build your dreams someone will hire you to help build theirs. - Tony Gaskin
Over a third of workers in the UK intend to leave their current job in 2015.
A study this month revealed that 37% of workers are planning to change roles this year, a figure which has nearly doubled since last year.
The poll by the Institute of Management and Leadership found that the most common reasons for changing jobs were for more opportunity for progression, better pay and more interesting work. Other motives cited included better management and more flexibility.
The ILM said that these results demonstrated “the return of ambition to the UK workforce”. Last year the number of people hoping to switch to a new job was only 19%, and just 13% in 2013.
This change is in part tied to an improving UK economy; more companies hiring means more options for workers. It also means that organisations must strongly consider making sure they are providing opportunities for employees to advance.
The New Year is always a popular time for workers and businesses to look ahead. If you are reconsidering your career prospects or are looking to recruit new talent in 2015, get in touch with our experienced consultants at KHR to see how we can help.
