tips on how to tackle those curveball interview questions

We all know that job interviews can be nerve-wracking, but have you ever been asked an unusual interview question that left you stumped? In our office here are our most unusual questions and here are some tips on how to tackle these curveball questions:

1. ‘What is your favorite TV show and why?’ – This type of question may seem unrelated to the job, but it can reveal a lot about your personality and interests. Be honest and choose a show that you genuinely enjoy, and then explain how it reflects your values and interests. For example, if you choose ‘The Office,’ you could say that you appreciate the show’s humor and teamwork themes, which align with your own work style.

2. ‘What would you do if you won the lottery?’ – This question may seem like a fun thought experiment, but it can also reveal your priorities and values. Again, be honest and explain how your answer reflects your personality and goals. For example, if you say that you would donate some of the money to charity, you could explain how giving back is important to you and how it aligns with the company’s mission and values.

3. ‘Tell me about a time you failed and how you recovered from it.’ – This question is designed to assess your resilience and problem-solving skills. Be honest and choose a real example of a failure, and then explain how you learned from it and used it as a learning opportunity. Emphasize how you were able to bounce back and improve your performance going forward.

Remember, the key to answering unusual interview questions is to be authentic and show your personality and values. While these questions may seem unconventional, they can help employers get a better sense of who you are as a person and how you would fit in with the company culture.
