Our lovely client based in Paddock Wood is looking for a Yard Operative/labourer to join their friendly team.

Hours: 7 am – 5 pm
Monday to Friday
Duration: Ongoing temp

Job Description:

My client is ideally looking for someone hands-on and good with using tools.
The ideal candidate would be capable of heavy lifting and loading and be able to ensure the smooth transition of supplies. They are looking for someone upbeat, on the ball, and not shy of hard work. This is the type of industry where repeat custom is common, so the ideal candidate will appreciate the high level of customer service needed to retain business.

Job Requirements:
– Experience with using tools and hands-on
– Be physically fit and able
– Own steel-toe cap boots
– Previous experience in a Yard/Warehouse environment is preferred but not essential
– Knowledge of roofing supplies is preferred but not essential
– Strong work ethic
– Fantastic communication skills

Position Overview

As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse, from receiving and inspecting goods to picking and packing customer orders to an exceptional standard. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment will be key to the company’s success.

Responsibilities

Assist with unloading vehicles and receiving and inspecting goods
Sort and place materials on racks and shelves
Schedule and pick customer and production orders
Pack customer orders to an exceptional standard
Perform daily cycle counts and inventory reconciliation
Assist with inventory audits and maintain a minimum of 98% stock accuracy
Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company procedures
Use a PC and a handheld scanner for data input and communicate with other departments
Maintain KPIs and operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks

Requirements

Enthusiastic and hardworking individual with a focus on providing the best possible service
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others
High attention to detail and ability to maintain quality output under pressure
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure
Flexibility and prioritisation skills
Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative with a desire to find solutions to problems
Forklift Truck experience would be advantageous
Computer literate
Stock control experience

We are currently working with a leading FMCG manufacturer based in Paddock Wood, who is looking for a Production Operative.

As a Production Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the production process. You will be responsible for labelling, packing, and preparing goods for dispatch to a high standard, adhering to production and shipping schedules. Your contribution will be essential in maintaining the company’s reputation for delivering top-quality products to its customers.

Responsibilities:

– Label, pack, and prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring a high standard of work
– Follow production and shipping schedules to meet deadlines
– Participate in team meetings and provide feedback for improvements
– Identify and fill safety gaps, and report all accidents, near misses, and property damage

During the initial training period, the hours will be Monday to Friday 8am-4pm. After the training period, you will move to a shift rotation of one week 6am-2pm and one week 2pm-10pm, you will then receive a shift allowance on top of your basic salary.
