As the Finance Consultant, you will work with schools and multi-academy trusts in your allocated territory, providing cover, advising on best practices, delivering training and completing any work required as part of the project.

This is a field-based role, covering areas including Sutton and Dartford. Although your home will act as a base, you will be required to visit the Kent-based office monthly and attend training and planned meetings.

Roles and Responsibilities

Position Overview

As a Practice Accountant – Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses and individual clients. This diverse role encompasses a wide range of accounting and tax-related duties, allowing you to utilise your expertise to provide high-quality professional services to clients while staying up-to-date with current legislative changes.

Responsibilities

– Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service
– Produce final statutory (FRS 102(1A) and FRS105) and non-statutory accounts

– Complete quarterly VAT returns
– Communicate effectively and proactively with clients
– Maintain daily time recording, monthly WIP review, and timely client billing

– Keep clients informed of legislative changes
– Assist with practice IT systems and provide support to senior staff

Candidate Profile

– Fully ACCA/ACA qualified with a minimum of 2 years of practice experience

My client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in accounting processes and a willingness to support a variety of finance functions in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
– Process purchase invoices and corresponding bank payments in the accounts system.
– Match and verify invoices against goods received notes before payment.
– Follow up on outstanding invoices for undelivered goods and resolve supplier issues.
– Maintain electronic filing of purchase and sales invoices.
– Reconcile supplier statements, ensure all invoices are accounted for, and liaise with suppliers to obtain any missing documentation.
– Support the daily billing process as needed, including emailing invoices to customers (AR cover).
